Yes, you can heat and insulate a temporary building! By using the right insulation and heating methods, you can keep the fabric covered structure warm and comfortable throughout the winter. Hallgruppen offer considerably better insulation meaning it’s easier and cheaper to maintain the required working temperatures. Fabric covered structures have a lifespan of several decades as the frames are made of high-strength steel or high quality aluminium. The life expectancy of the technical textile is shorter though, around 25 to 30 years (Hallgruppen offers thicker stronger PVC), but can be easily replaced if the need arises. A fabric covered structure requires very little maintenance. However, for best practice, it could be periodically checked for loose or damaged seams, tears or slits in the fabric, or any signs of moisture/water ingress. Companies that manufacture load-bearing components (Truss parts) with Eurocode dimensions must be certified with EN 1090. In our experience, fabric covered structures suffer few break-ins, but they are not completely theft-proof, even with steel walls and roller doors etc. Of course alarm / monitoring systems can be installed.
